Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She currently works as an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. In 2016, she joined ESPN. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. When she was just nine, Collins's ability to converse in two languages led to her obtaining a job in Miami as an assistant production for Univision. When on vacation Antonietta was staying at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she had a clear idea of the path she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union was right for her Antonietta decided to go visit the campus. At the end of the day, she fell in love with the university. The university offered her an academic major. When she finished her high school education, she chose to attend the University to pursue a degree in media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
